On Monday 14 January 2008 the Trustees and
benefactors of the TERRA SANCTA EDUCATION TRUST came together for an Epiphany
Party at St
Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation and Peace, Bishopsgate, in
the City of London, to celebrate the official launch of the registered
charity (n. 1122180).
Our fundraising efforts on the evening allowed
us to make a donation to the Catholic
Near East Welfare Association, to facilitate a field trip to the Judean
Desert for 150 schoolchildren to study flora and fauna with the Palestinian
Wildlife Society.

On this occasion, the Trust also received many messages of support from
those who could not, unfortunately, be present at the Epiphany Party: |

I do hope that the evening goes well and God's richest blessings on the
TERRA SANCTA EDUCATION TRUST.
Fr John
Babeau, Prior of St. Hugh's Charterhouse, West Sussex
We do pray fervently for peace in the world, and the Middle East in particular.
I will also ask the prayer of the community at the occasion of the launching
of your charity [...]. It is great that people of many faiths and beliefs
are willing to gather together and attend. We know that all one can do
is only a drop of water in an ocean of needs and expectations, and suffering.
In the same time, one cannot but pour out his life and blood for the sake
of his brothers and sisters. Since we can do nothing without the Lord
and nothing has value without him, we entrust to Him all your undertaking,
thanking Him for all the fruit that will come from Him.
Our Patron
Fr Pierbattista Pizzaballa,
Franciscan Custodian of the Holy Land, Jerusalem
I'm joined with you today in prayer!
Cardinal
Cormac Murphy O'Connor, Archbishop of Westminster
I regret very much at being unable to attend the launch of the TERRA SANCTA
EDUCATION TRUST. It seems to me to be an excellent initiative, focussing
on children from the poorest and most humble Christian families. Having
visited the Holy Land last Christmas and seen the great need to uphold
the Christian presence there, I whole-heartedly support Dr. Jordan Lancaster
and all those who help her in this most important project.
