2008 Scholarships 2008 Custos Visit 2008 Gala Dinner 2008 Epiphany Party 2007 Pilgrimage	On Saturday 12 April, on the occasion of the visit to London of our Patron, Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa ofm, the Franciscan Custodian of the Holy Land, a gala dinner was organised by the TERRA SANCTA EDUCATION TRUST in the crypt of St. Etheldreda’s Church, Ely Place, in the City of London. The gala dinner was preceded by mass at St. Etheldreda’s and by a champagne reception. The sumptuous three course dinner with wine was followed by an after dinner talk by Father Pizzaballa on the Christian presence in the Holy Land today, and on the Franciscan role in supporting the Christian communities of the Holy Land since the Middle Ages. Born in Bergamo, Italy, in 1965, Pierbattista Pizzaballa was ordained to the priesthood in 1990. He is a renowned expert in Old Testament studies and a professor at the Studium Biblicum in Jerusalem. He has lived in the Holy Land for many years, having studied at the Hebrew University. Soft piano music playing, candles lining the stone walls ... the champagne reception in the richly atmospheric crypt of St. Etheldreda’s Church Guests enjoying their dinner. Every table was hosted by a religious and by one of the Trustees Father Pizzaballa’s after dinner talk on the Christian presence in the Holy Land Dr Jordan Lancaster, founder of the TERRA SANCTA EDUCATION TRUST, and Father Anthony McNeill ofm, who recently agreed to become chaplain of the Trust, with guests
