 Bethlehem

 Pilgrimage

 Concerts for Peace

Have you always dreamed of visiting the Holy Land and walking in the steps of Our Blessed Lord? Are you praying for peace in the Middle East? Are you concerned about the welfare of our Christian brothers and sisters in Palestine?

You are most cordially invited by the Christian community of the Holy Land to visit them and experience their friendship on this special pilgrimage of solidarity...

For centuries, the Christians of the Holy Land have worked in the hospitality industry, offering guest services to pilgrims. Sadly, in recent years, the political situation has brought the tourist industry, and the local economy, to a near total standstill. Our Christian brothers and sisters in Bethlehem are now living in what is virtually an open air prison, behind an 18 foot “security wall” guarded by armed Israeli soldiers. Unpleasant as this is for them, meaning that many Christians are not free even to travel as far as Jerusalem (short 20 minute journey by car), Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor's 2006 visit to Bethlehem demonstrates that it is safe for foreign visitors. Christian pilgrimage sites are not located in areas of unrest.

On this special pilgrimage, we will be accompanied by a licensed Christian tour guide and a Catholic priest to all the Gospel sites, but not only will we visit the places of Christ’s life and ministry, we will be guests in the homes of Arab Christian families. We will be offering them support, hope and friendship as well as making it possible for the families to earn much needed income through providing meals in their homes. The Christians of the Holy Land ask only that we give them the opportunity to work. This pilgrimage is organised to give as much work as possible to local Christian families, making it possible for us to share our friendship with many Christians in Palestine and Jordan. Please join us on this special pilgrimage of solidarity and friendship, to the home of JESUS!

The price for the tour is £1275. The price per person includes: return air fare London-Amman; airport transfers in Jordan; visa costs and border taxes Israel/Jordan; 11 nights accommodation (on H/B basis per person sharing double room); bus transport to sites, services of a qualified guide, entrance fees, boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, cable car ride in Jericho. Price DOES NOT include tips, personal items, travel insurance, lunches, drinks with hotel meals and anything else that is not mentioned specifically above - all details of this programme correct as of April 2008.
